Vimdiff Command on Linux (Check Differences)

A tool little known to programmers that can help a lot in finding problems in the code is the vimdiff command on Linux.

This tool allows you to open two files with source code at the same time and makes comparisons, indicating which line and what is different between the files.

This is very useful for verifying differences between one development code and another in production, especially in interpreted languages, JSON files, XML, etc.

To use vimdiff, the command is simple: just indicate which two files are to be compared:

$ vimdiff arquivo1.php arquivo2.php

The result is a screen with two windows, with the different lines highlighted:
